"I'm glad everyone else has had such a great experience with this camera, I just wish I could say the same. I have had this camera for 9months now, never taken it underwater out of fear, and for good reason. It's supposed to go up to 10feet and I didn't even surpass 1 1/2 before it started just cutting off on me. Now, it won't turn on at all. I'm sending it back to Olympus today and keeping in mind that I will never get another Olympus camera again."

"i got Olympus Stylus 850 SW Digital camera on christmas day, and i didn't really use it underwater until two days before my birthday i went to a swimming pool and i took it under, and it kept saying that the battery door needed to be checked. so then i checked it and everything, and it was closed. it started zooming and being really uncooperative. it would zoom when i pressed to shutter button, and i'd have to press the zoom to take a picture. it was weird. but then i found out that the red piece that holds the battery in broke off and that's why water got into it. so i took it back to best buy and they told me that they would have to send it back to Olympus cause their fourteen day return policy was over. so they sent it back, and i called best buy a week later to know the status of the camera. best buy had been told by olympus that i would have to pay 150 dollars to get it repaired and everything, so then best buy just told me that they would give me the money back as a store credit and that i could buy anything in their store with 250 dollars. thanks best buy=] i re bought the camera because i knew that it didn't break because of the seals, but because the red piece broke off. it was literally the best camera i have ever had in my life, and i've gone through more then seven cameras. so, the point is, that this camera is great and you need to buy it."

"Love Olympus Stylus 850 SW Digital camera itself, great options easy to use. Downside battery doesn't last very long. Cant wait to go underwater with it, love the fact I can leave it in my car in the winter and not have to worry, or if it is rainy.

"I bought Olympus Stylus 850 SW Digital camera to take pictures underwater of the kids. Takes great pics, the mode function is nice, specify what you are doing and it adjusts to capture the shot. Just remember to open and close the doors prior to water use after a flight-need to equalize the pressure. Although only 2GB xD cards are available, at the 8M/fine compression, that still means 400+ pictures. at 8M/normal compression it is 999 pics. Saltwater or fresh, no problems for this camera.
